Andrea Bocelli Performs Magical Christmas Duets With His Children Matteo and Virginia
In recent years, Andrea Bocelli has been sharing more of the spotlight with his remarkably talented children — a beautiful continuation of the musical legacy he has built over decades. His son, Matteo Bocelli, now 25, has stepped confidently into his own career, releasing singles in anticipation of his debut solo album. His youngest child, Virginia Bocelli, only 10 at the time of her earliest performances, has already captured hearts with her angelic voice during duets with her father.
Now, the Bocelli family has come together for a special project: a multigenerational Christmas album that has inspired some breathtaking live performances around the world.
A Beautiful Balcony Performance in Milan
After performing their new festive song “The Greatest Gift” at the Royal Albert Hall during the Festival of Remembrance, Andrea, Matteo, and Virginia returned to Italy for another unforgettable moment. At Milan’s Piazza Duomo — the site of Andrea’s iconic Easter concert during lockdown — the trio surprised gathered fans with a moving rendition of the Italian song “Il Giorno Più Speciale” (“The Most Special Day”).
Dressed in elegant white, they performed from the balcony of the Mondadori Store, their voices carrying across the square with warmth and holiday spirit. The performance followed the release of a festive music video and the announcement of their upcoming streaming holiday special.
A Christmas Experience in an Italian Winter Wonderland
The Bocelli family will shine in a unique streaming event on December 4 — a magical combination of concert and fairy-tale experience filmed in the breathtaking town of Gressoney in Northern Italy.
The family shared an enchanting preview of the special:
“Set in the heart of an Italian Winter Wonderland in magical Gressoney in Valle d’Aosta, one of the most enchanting mountain towns in the world, the Bocelli family showcase their multigenerational talent in an intimate festive sing-along.”
The special opens with Virginia’s soft, pure voice singing “Over the Rainbow.” Her performance blends seamlessly with her father’s as she imagines herself floating through the mountains in a hot-air balloon — a child’s dream come to life. She soon discovers a beautifully decorated castle where the rest of the family awaits to begin their Christmas celebration.
Andrea Bocelli on His Daughter’s Emerging Talent
In an interview with Express.co.uk, Andrea spoke tenderly about Virginia’s passion for music and the importance of nurturing her interests:
“Virginia loves music. She likes to sing. She studies piano. She does artistic gymnastics at a competitive level. She is in tune and naturally grew up on bread and music, just like her brothers.”
He emphasized that, for now, performing together is meant to be a joyful experience, not a professional obligation:
“Sharing the stage with her father is little more than a game for her, as it should be, since she is still a child. Studying music is always useful in any case. But I think it is fundamental that children realise their aspirations, regardless of their parents’ ambitions.”
